Ramrod straight stems bear starry yellow flowers that open in no particular order over a long period. At the base is a tuft of slender, almost hair-like, rich green leaves. Great any well-drained soil, but also in dry soils.

Care advice

Although a hardy perennial, this is a little more tender than some perennials, coping with temperatures down to -5 in wet soils, or -10 in dryer soils. The whole plant dies back in autumn and emerges again in spring.
