A very hardy plant, this survives temperatures down to -10 degrees or more. Even though this is evergreen, the old leaves will fall off the plant as new foliage emerges in spring. To tidy up the plant, remove old leaf stems in spring, but be careful not to cut off the flowers that could be pushing their way up.
