Epimedium wushanense 'Caramel'

(Bishop's mitre)
Epimedium wushanense 'Caramel'
  • Epimedium-caramel2
  • Epimedium-caramel-leaves
This plant is worth growing just for the leaves, which are long, leathery and mid-green and mottled with dark brown. Little spines sit along the edges. They form a thick, low mound from which slender, wiry stems arise carrying soft caramel spidery flowers. These have long, almost white spurs and chocolate centres. A choice plant.

Care advice

This needs a spot that does not dry out in part shade really. Although it can be grown in sun, make sure the soil is moist. Slow to establish.
