Foeniculum vulgare

This handsome herb deserves a place in the garden. Grown at the back of the border, its frothy, ever-so, finely divided leaves which grow into large upright plumes with create a lovely mound. Rising from these, thick flower stems bear umbels of tiny yellow flowers that turn into seeds, which like the leaves, are edible.
