The round, ruffled at the edges and the petals are more likely to open apricot with a large centre of dark maroon. This colour runs into over the apricot sometimes turning them pink. The large, flat blooms have a rich lime-lemon centre and bloom just above a thick mound of long, mid-green leaves.
The leaves of this very hardy perennial die back in autumn and rise again in spring. Hardy to colder than -10 and very easy to grow, it will take a year or two to establish, but once happy this requires little maintenance.
