Iris 'Art Critic'

Fabulously frilly, yet well proportioned flower, the white standards are stained with yellow and washed with pale lilac. The white falls, which flare outwards are banded and sanded along the edge with caramel. Yellow beards are purple underneath, a colour that extends down the petals. Very nice, and sweetly scented too.

Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
