Iris 'Countess'

Iris 'Countess'
  • Iris-countess
Big, flouncy and over the top, this beautiful flower deserves a special spot in the garden. Broad, reddish purple falls are velvety and washed paler around the edges to pink. Ruffled into a rippled effect around the edges, the extravagantly ruffled, pale pink standards. Bright orange beards complement the purple falls. Sweetly scented.

Care advice

Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
