This cheerful, brightly coloured, ruffled flower has violet falls that are rimmed with yellow, the colour appearing pinker around the main colour of the petals. The standards are a rich corn yellow (the breeder discribes it as old gold) as are the short, but fat beards. Scented.

Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
