Iris 'Plum Loco'

The standards of this nicely shaped flower are burgundy, with a flush of purple of the central mid-rib, while the round falls, which are held horizontally to the standards are white, then cream and finally broadly edged with purple. The petals ripple around the edges. A wonderful introduction from 2020 that was raised by Keith Keppel, the king of plicata irises.

Bearded irises need to be planted with the rhizome, or root, just above the soil. This is because the rhizome needs to be baked by the sun in order to form flowers. Make sure that there is not too much competition from surrounding plants and remove any weeds.
