Hardy to -10 degrees, the foliage dies back in autumn and emerges again in spring. Cut back old foliage before the new leaves sprout in spring. These require a soil that does not bake dry during the summer, so if your soil is likely to become very dry it is best grown in part shade. Good for clay soils.
