Peony 'Blushing Princess'

Paeonia 'Blushing Princess'

This semi-double hybrid peony opens into a very, very pale pink ruffled, rosette bloom. The centre is filled with short, gold stamens. As the flower ages the thick petals fade to near white. Raised by A. P. Saunders, named by David Reath and registered by Allan Rogers, this is truly a peony growers peony. In the first year the blooms have less petals than in future years.

Peonies will grow in most soils as long as they are not wet, including clay soils. They require a sunny or partially shaded site. Herbaceous peonies need to be planted with the eye (the dormant pink buds) no more than 2.5cm below the surface of the soil. Do not mix manure in the soil before planting as this may rot the eyes.
