Peony 'Boreas'

Evenly spaced around the plant, the deep raspberry-red, fragrant flowers tumble across a sloping mound of mid-green foliage. Named after the Greek god of the north wind, the large, wavy, almost square-topped petals seem to whirl around the centre. This is sparsely filled with yellow stamens carried on red filaments and white-tipped, green carpels. Right at the bottom of the petals, darkest red flares are apparent.
