Peony 'Coral Sunset'

The petals of the soft-coral, cupped flowers are darker towards the top, fading to very pale coral at the base where they are almost yellow - a colour reflected from thee ring of yellow stamens. As the petals unfurl in to a flat saucer, the yellow tints fade leaving the whole flower soft-pink. Strong stems produce slim, dark green leaves but no side buds. A lightly scented, early flowering, hybrid peony suitable for cutting

Peonies will grow in most soils as long as they are not wet, including clay soils. They require a sunny or partially shaded site. Herbaceous peonies need to be planted with the eye (the dormant pink buds) no more than 2.5cm below the surface of the soil. Do not mix manure in the soil before planting as this may rot the eyes.
