Peony 'Halcyon'

This very beautiful single flower is very early flowering. The white flowers are faintly tinted around the edges with pink when first open. As the flower ages, the pink fades leaving behind a pure white saucer of thick, rather waxy petals. In the centre of these sits a boss of yellow stamens. The reddish flower stems carry a solitary flower and big, slightly glossy, mid-green leaves that are tinged with deep red on the back. Flowers May.
