Peony 'Ma Petite Cherie'

Paeonia 'Ma Petite Cherie'
Peony 'Ma Petite Cherie'
  • A-collectors-peony
A short plant with semi-double flowers that open rich pink and fade from the edges to soft pink. The petals form a frill around the centre of yellow stamens, which are initially hidden by short, wavy petals. The inner petals open flat to show off not just the stamens, but a cluster of soft green, red tipped carpels. This neat plant carries the fragrant flowers tidily above mid-green leaves.

Care advice

Peonies will grow in most soils as long as they are not wet, including clay soils. They require a sunny or partially shaded site. Herbaceous peonies need to be planted with the eye (the dormant pink buds) no more than 2.5cm below the surface of the soil. Do not mix manure in the soil before planting as this may rot the eyes.
