Peony 'Smith Family Yellow'

The large, bright yellow flowers open into a perfect lightly ruffled, multi-layered ruff around a ring of yellow stamens. Slight tinges of red can be seen right at the base of the petals. A cross between lactiflora peony 'Martha W.' and tree peony 'Golden Era' this displays similar double yellow flowers to the tree peony, but they are produced on a short bush with dark green, tree peony-like leaves. Lightly scented, the stems carry several flower buds.
