Phuopsis stylosa 'Purpurea'

Phuopsis stylosa 'Purpurea'
  • Phuopsis-stylosa-purpurea
I first came across this plant in a book written by Beth Chatto in the 1980's, and I've longed for it ever since. Recently available, in all respects except flower colour like straight Phuopsis stylosa except the pompom-shaped flowers are intense purple-pink. They are also carried on short stems with whorls of light-green pointed leaves. Perfect for ground-cover and allowing to crawl under and around other perennials.
