Salvia officinalis 'Tricolor'
(Commmon sage)
The leaves of this culinary sage are very pretty; white and sage green marbling overlaid with an uneven wash of deep pink. Like most sages that you can cook with, this doesn't always flower, however the scented mound of leaves make a charming combination when edging the front of a border with other short plants.

Mounding plant
A hardy sub-shrub that should survive the odd day that drops -10 degrees or more. The plant, which has woody stems, will form a just about evergreen mound. Prune gentle in spring if some stems die back.
