Mounding plant
A hardy perennial, this survives temperatures down to -10 degrees and more. Like many salvias, this plant likes a very well-drained soil as it won't come through the winter if the soil is wet. The foliage dies back in autumn and grows again from the crown in spring. Cut back the old foliage/flower stems before the new leaves emerge.
