Tanacetum vulgare 'Isla Gold'

(Tansy)

I first grew this years ago, then managed to loose the stock. So I am really pleased to have found it again. Worth growing just for the foliage, this produce clump of handsomely divided, bright yellow leaves that are nicely scented when crushed. As the plant ages the leaves turn soft green. Later it produces clusters of yellow button shaped flowers.

Hardy to over -10 degrees and more. This is a perennial which means the leaves will die back in autumn and emerge again in spring. Can be a bit of a runner if it likes your soil and recently I've found little yellow-leaved seedlings around the garden, so I assume it may seed about (I certainly hope so). Otherwise easy in well-drained soil.
